Jaw Surgery

Hi Everyone!

I just had my upper and lower jaw moved forward, the lower was moved about 15 mm and the top was moved about 8 mm. The surgery was a week ago Thursday and lasted for about six and a half hours. The day of the surgery, I stayed overnight in the recovery room. Then, the next morning I was moved into my own big private room. Then, stayed there four more nights. I stayed at the hospital for a total of six days. I was very swollen after the surgery, but every day it goes down. About a week after the surgery, the swelling decreased immensely. I have to eat pureed food, so I’ve been having that. Here are some of the things I’ve been eating: Sweet Potato’s, pureed Chicken Parmesan, a pureed Sandwich, Mashed Potato’s, pureed Spaghetti-O’s, pureed French Vanilla Granola, Jello, and Pudding. So, I’ve been getting by! I still can’t talk very well, because I can’t open my jaw yet like I used too, plus I’m still a little swollen. The surgery was done by Dr. Larry Wolford, I’ve already had a surgery done by him before and he is amazing. He is the best doctor for oral surgery in the world.

I know that throughout this surgery, there is absolutely no way I could have gotten through this surgery and getting through this recovery process without my Heavenly Father. It has been incredible seeing Him work through this surgery, and how much I’ve had to trust Him through it all. He has been my Rock and has gotten me through one of the hardest times in my life. He’s given me so much comfort throughout this, He’s held my hand and just pulled me through.

I’ll post some before and after pictures here pretty soon, maybe in a week or so!
