Introduction
Below are web sites, applications, utilities, etc. that I have found very useful in my computing adventures. Hopefully, you will find them useful as well.
General
- Evernote (http://evernote.com/) – Keep your notes with you where ever you go. Has a desktop client for Windows and Mac. Can also access your notes from a web interface or even an iPhone app.
PC
- Process Explorer (http://www.sysinternals.com) – Utility to list details of running processes.
- WinDirStat – Utility to graphically show what is using up your hard drive space.
- Black Viper Web Site (http://www.blackviper.com/) – This web site gives a description of the different windows services and gives guidance as to which ones can be turned off based on your system and hardware configuration. For example, no need to have bluetooth support on if your system doesn’t even have any bluetooth devices. By disabling services you will see an improvement in performance.
