Caramel Cake!

Cake:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 pound butter – softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1  1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla

Icing:

  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoon cream
  • 3  2/3 cups powdered sugar – sifted
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoon vanilla

Directions:

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream butter. Slowly add sugar, 1/4 cup at a time, when well mixed, add eggs one at a time. Add dry ingredients alternately with cream and vanilla, beginning and ending with flour.

Bake in 2 greased and floured 9 inch pans at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

Icing

Melt butter and add brown sugar. Boil one minute. Add cream and boil another minute. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and beat in cream cheese and vanilla!
